Pharmacy Residency Program

Hoag’s one-year Pharmacy Residency Program accommodates two residents, both of whom are required to rotate through the individual practice areas and complete at least 2,000 hours of residency requirements within the residency year (typically beginning in mid-June). The residents work closely with preceptors to meet mutually agreed upon, predetermined goals set by the residency program director.

Purpose & Specifications

Hoag’s Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) program has been fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The program builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists. Residents will be responsible for medication-related care of patients with a range of conditions, and eligible for board certification and PGY2 pharmacy residency training.
